日本が誇る最高のDIYインディーレーベルCLOVER RECORDSの中心バンドとして活躍したsmileyのフロントマン川田通雄のソロユニット。
1996年に活動をはじめたsmileyは2000年代初期にはオーストラリアのashtray boyやthe lucksmithsとのツアーを行い、clover recordsからは3枚のアルバムをリリース。当時のオーストラリアのインディバンドやアメリカのインディーバンドと同世代感覚を持ち合わせつつも独自の文学的感性でちょっとばかりひねくれたポップ感覚を発揮し国内外の多数のインディーファンを引きつけた。
２００７年頃から現在のアコースティックギター弾き語りのスタイルになり、初めて形にしたのが今回のカセットテープです。
のんびりしすぎじゃないかと思わせるくらいのんびりほのぼのとした楽曲が、めまぐるしく変化する日常の中では逆に新鮮であり、ちょっとにんまりしてしまいます。
