米国ギターポップの名門レーベルであるJigsaw Records から2019年夏ファーストepをリリースしたSTARS ON FIREのセカンド ep。
パステルズやオレンジジュースにドリーミーポップの要素を加えて疾走するギターポップ。ザ・キュアーの名曲「２late」のカバーを含む４曲入り。

STARS ON FIREはアメリカ出身で現在ソウルをベースにしているクリスによるギターポッププロジェクトである。AMPERSANDのメンバーとして2000年頃fantasitic recordsからミニアルバムを残し、米国音楽の付録CDに収録されるなど活躍した。
クリスはお気に入りの音楽スタイルのすべてをギター演奏と融合させています。さながら酔っ払ったジョニー・マーのようでもありロイド・コールのようでもあります。ネオアコーやジャングリーポップといった往年のギターポップのようでもありますが霧がかかったドリーミーポップでシューゲイズの雰囲気もあります。

STARS ON FIRE plays scrappy guitar pop for people with short attention-spans. A member of the short-lived Bay Area indie-pop band ampersand, which released its debut and only mini-album on the great Fantastic Pop Records, Cristoph Mark plays all the roles in STARS ON FIRE.

Now based out of Seoul, Cristoph blends all of his favorite musical styles with his guitar playing - which has been compared to both a drunk Johnny Marr and a drunk Lloyd Cole (why so drunk??) - to create short shoegaze pop, noisy jangle pop, and catchy but off-kilter guitar pop. Or, this is all a bunch of bullshit. It’s up to you. Songs for the Summer is the second ep from STARS ON FIRE, and was co-produced and mastered by the Royal Landscaping Society’s Cris Romero at Cherry Sounds in Seville.

Songs for the Summer is available on digital download and CD from Emma’s House Records, and on Cassette from Galaxy Train from October 25.
